#TJRawChallenge – Saxophone Face Off

It’s time for the #TJRawChallenge! We are comparing a Trevor James Signature Custom RAW Saxophone with a well known vintage saxophone from the 1960’s. Vote in the comments for which horn you think is the Trevor James RAW or the Vintage Sax!
We will release the unedited video on August 15th so you can see if your guess was correct!

Can’t wait for the Bari to come out, if it’s anything like the tenors it will be a killer.
Number 1 sounds the best to me!
These are both wonderful instruments, and a world class artist like this always ends up sounding like himself on any decent instrument. However, I hear a more focussed and brawnier core sound that is more consistent tonally from the top to the bottom of the instrument in number 2. I could happily play either instrument….and even more happily play half as well as Steve!
I LIKE the second tenor the best, especially the low notes. It seemed more velvety and had more character, IMO, in the notes.
I think the TJ is Number 2. Both sound very similar – Steve sounds amazing!
